📸 Photo Check

Every listing we show you gets its photo compared with the official picture of the card the title claims. It takes a second, it's automatic, and it catches the listings you'd want to look at twice.

🔎 Check any listing before you buy

Found a card on eBay? Paste its link. We'll check every photo, read the card in the seller's photo, and compare the price with what the card sells for.

✅ Photo matches this card

Matches

The photo clearly shows the card in the title. You're looking at the seller's actual card (or at least the right one), so you can judge its condition from the photos.

📸 Stock photo — the seller hasn't shown their actual card

Stock photo

The photo is the official card image, not a photo of the card being sold. Plenty of honest sellers do this, but you can't see the condition, or whether it's real. Ask for a photo of the actual card before you pay, especially on valuable cards.

⚠️ Photo doesn't look like this card — check it before buying

Check it

The photo looks like a different card: a gold "metal" fake, a different version of the Pokémon, fan art, or simply the wrong card. The deal tag changes to ⚠ CHECK. Open the listing and compare the photos with the card's page before buying.

How it works

  • We find the card in the seller's photo, even in a sleeve, a top loader or someone's hand, by searching the photo at several sizes.
  • We compare it with the official picture of the exact card and print the title matched.
  • We only show a badge when we're confident. Blurry, slabbed or very busy photos get no badge rather than a guess.
  • It runs on every Pokémon (English and Japanese) and One Piece listing in Deals & auctions, and on the cheapest copies we find for cards you're missing in a set.

On the deals page you can hide stock photos or hide photos to check with one tick.

What it can't do

  • It checks the picture, not the card. A good counterfeit with the right artwork can pass. Use our guide to spotting fake Pokémon cards when it matters.
  • It doesn't grade condition. Look at the corners, edges and surface in the photos yourself (what to look for).
  • About 1 genuine listing in 100 gets a "check it" badge because of an odd photo. That's why it says check, not fake.

Prices that are far below what a card is worth are flagged separately as ⚠ CHECK too: they're often fakes, proxies or the wrong card.
